A Craftsman bungalow in Venice, renovated and extended with Studio Benson. A new second story steps back from the street and echoes the original roofline and siding, so the house keeps its scale on the block.
Inside, the Craftsman rooms are kept and quietly updated, with fir millwork that leads into the addition. Clerestories and vertical louvers draw light deep into a narrow lot, and decks at the front, rear and roof carry the house outdoors.
